Most business leaders do not struggle because they have no ideas.
The harder problem is deciding which issue deserves attention first, turning it into a manageable piece of work and then finding enough time and headspace to complete it properly.
That is why Expert Circle created Business Actions.
The Marketing, Management and Leadership Actions help you take a broad business challenge and turn it into one practical Business Action. Instead of giving you a library of advice to work through, each desk helps you identify a relevant next step based on your situation.
The aim is simple: one useful piece of work at a time.
What are Expert Circle Business Actions?
Business Actions are part of the Expert Circle Programme’s Business Actions system.
There are three desks:
The Marketing Desk
The Marketing Desk helps you identify what to prioritise and turn broad marketing concerns into achievable actions.
It can support areas such as:
- positioning and value proposition;
- marketing priorities;
- content and thought leadership;
- lead generation;
- campaign planning;
- audience and messaging;
- AI visibility;
- marketing systems and follow-up;
- preparation for promotional and sales activity.
Instead of receiving broad advice such as “post more” or “improve your marketing”, you receive a defined task based on the result you are trying to achieve.
The Management Desk
The Management Desk helps you structure everyday management challenges and take a proportionate first step.
It covers areas including:
- time and administration;
- team operations and one-to-ones;
- hiring and onboarding;
- meetings;
- delegation and workload;
- process documentation;
- networking and relationships;
- team morale and social connection;
- budget and resource planning;
- performance and feedback;
- personal productivity;
- problems and escalation.
The Management Desk does not replace professional HR, legal or financial advice. Its role is to help you understand the issue, organise your thinking and identify an appropriate next action, including recognising when specialist support may be required.
The Leadership Desk
The Leadership Desk is designed for business owners, directors and senior managers responsible for wider organisational direction.
It helps you work through areas such as:
- strategic priorities;
- leadership decisions;
- organisational direction;
- accountability;
- difficult trade-offs;
- competing demands;
- alignment between business goals and operational activity;
- preparation for senior-level conversations;
- decisions affecting the wider team or business.
The Leadership Desk does not make decisions for you. It gives you a clearer structure for examining the issue and identifying what needs to happen next.
Why were Business Actions created?
Business leaders already have access to more advice than they could realistically use.
You can search online, ask AI, attend webinars, read books or save another useful article for later.
The problem is rarely finding information.
The problem is turning information into action.
When you are responsible for several parts of a business, even a sensible objective such as “improve our follow-up process” can quickly create a much longer list:
Should you review the CRM? Rewrite the emails? Assign an owner? Analyse response rates? Contact dormant prospects? Create an automation?
All of those ideas may be useful.
Trying to tackle all of them at once usually is not.
Business Actions were created to reduce that decision overload. They help you move from a broad concern to one defined task that is realistic enough to complete.
Instead of asking:
“What could I do?”
the desk helps you reach:
“What should I work on next?”
How do Business Actions work?
Using a Business Desk follows a simple process.
Step 1: Choose the desk that matches your challenge
Start by deciding where the issue sits.
If the challenge relates to visibility, lead generation, positioning or campaigns, start with the Marketing Desk.
If it concerns workload, meetings, delegation, processes or team management, use the Management Desk.
If you are dealing with strategy, competing priorities, organisational direction or a senior-level decision, choose the Leadership Desk.
You do not need to diagnose the entire business. You only need to identify the area most closely connected to the problem in front of you.
Step 2: Answer a few short questions
The desk asks you about your current situation, the outcome you need and what is realistic for you.
These questions help narrow the challenge rather than immediately producing generic recommendations.
This matters because two businesses can describe the same problem while needing very different next actions.
Step 3: Receive one Business Action
Based on your answers, the desk recommends a focused Business Action.
Each task gives you more than a title.
It explains:
- why the action matters;
- the practical steps to follow;
- how much time to allow;
- whether the work is better completed personally or delegated;
- important risks or considerations;
- what finished looks like;
- and a structured AI prompt to help you complete the work.
The intention is to remove as much unnecessary starting friction as possible.
You can move from identifying a problem to beginning the work without having to design the whole process yourself.
Step 4: Decide whether the action fits
You are not locked into the first recommendation.
If the suggested Business Action does not suit your circumstances, you can request another option.
Each priority also includes a fallback action, helping ensure you still have a useful next step rather than reaching a dead end.
Step 5: Complete and record the work
Once you choose the task, use its practical guidance and AI prompt to work through it.
Your task record allows you to keep the work in one place, including your next action, target date, notes, decisions and supporting material.
You can complete a task, leave it open, return to it later or reopen something you have previously finished.
This means you do not have to reconstruct your thinking every time you return to a piece of work.
How to use the personalised AI prompt
Every Business Action can include a structured AI prompt designed around the task.
Members can create a business profile containing information about areas such as:
- services;
- audience;
- team;
- tools;
- priorities;
- and available capacity.
That context helps make the generated prompt more relevant to your actual business.
Instead of opening an AI tool with a blank screen and spending time explaining your company again, you start with a clearer brief.
Importantly, Expert Circle does not send your information to an external AI service or make decisions on your behalf. You choose whether to use the prompt and which AI tool to use.
The judgement remains yours.
What are the benefits of using Business Actions?
1. They reduce decision overload
A broad business challenge can create dozens of possible actions.
Business Actions narrow the problem so you can focus on one piece of work rather than building another overwhelming task list.
2. They help you move from thinking to doing
Knowing that something needs attention is very different from knowing how to begin.
A Business Action gives you practical steps and a clear definition of what completion looks like.
That makes it easier to start.
3. They help you work within the time you actually have
Every task indicates the likely time commitment before you begin.
This allows you to choose work that fits the week you are having rather than committing to an unrealistic project that immediately gets postponed.
4. They make delegation clearer
Some work should stay with the leader. Other work can be carried forward by someone else.
Business Actions can help identify which is which and give the person completing the task a clearer piece of work rather than a broad instruction.
With two seats included in the Expert Circle Programme, the leader who decides what matters and the colleague helping carry work forward can both participate in the same wider system while maintaining their own private workspaces.
5. They create continuity
One of the easiest ways to lose progress is to stop work for a few weeks and then have to reconstruct everything when you return.
Business Actions keep the task, context, notes and next steps together so you can continue rather than restart.
6. They make accountability more useful
Business Actions also connect directly with the Monthly Accountability Meeting.
Instead of arriving at the meeting trying to remember what you intended to work on, you can bring evidence of the Business Actions you opened, completed, changed or postponed.
That creates a more useful conversation:
What did you decide to do? What actually happened? What did you learn? What needs to happen next?
Business Actions are not another content library
It is important to understand what Business Actions are not.
They are not designed to give you hundreds of templates to browse.
They are not a course you need to complete.
They are not a chatbot asking you to invent the right question.
And they are not intended to replace your own judgement or professional advice.
Their purpose is to give structure to the moment between recognising a business problem and actually doing something about it.
You bring the judgement.
The desk helps organise the work.
How Business Actions fit into the Expert Circle Programme
Business Actions are most valuable when they are used as part of the wider Expert Circle rhythm.
You identify a challenge.
You use the relevant desk to turn it into a Business Action.
You complete or progress that action.
You use Revenue Habits to keep smaller recurring commercial activities moving alongside it.
Then you return to the Monthly Accountability Meeting with a clearer record of what happened and what should come next.
That is how the different parts of the Programme support each other.
Choose what matters, make it manageable and keep it moving.
Turn your next business challenge into a practical action
If important work keeps sitting on your list because you have not had the time to structure it properly, you probably do not need another article, course or collection of ideas.
You need a manageable next action.
Expert Circle membership gives you access to the Marketing, Management and Leadership desks, Business Actions, Revenue Habits and the Monthly Accountability Meeting, helping you create more consistency in action, continuity in delivery and certainty about the progress you are making.
